On May 12th and 13th Norciva conducted a two day training class for Civitan Services employees on the proper support mechanisms needed to enable a person with a developmental disability to live, work and be part of a community. The evening of May 13th Norciva shared information with staff, families and Civitan clients regarding national service programs that are empowering people with developmental disabilities to make their own personal decisions about living and working within a community. This presentation was a wonderful opportunity to hear about successes in national programs offered for people with developmental disabilities and Civitans vision to be the quality pace setter for these services in Arkansas. Following the presentation there was a short question and answer session led by Norciva and representatives from the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Refreshments were provided by the Civitan Adult Cooking Class and Benton Civitan Club.
