Bus Monitor (Part-Time)
GENERAL DISCRIPTION: Provide for the safety, care and supervision
of clients as assigned at all times. Instruct, supervise and assist individuals
while loading and unloading the van. Ensure all riders are seated with seatbelt
fastened while the van is in motion. Ensure children are in car seats and wheelchairs
are correctly secured / tied down. Conduct emergency evacuation drills. Ensure no
students are left on the vehicle at the end of the route. Follow safety procedures.
Display and maintain good communication and people skills. Complete necessary documentation
and reports as needed for DDS Licensure, Medicaid, Childcare Licensing and ATA regulations.
Maintain schedule flexibility. Work with Transportation Director on maintaining
staff/client ratios. Maintain accurate Emergency Medical Releases for each individual
transported. Occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance;
stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Frequently lift and/or move
up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Represent
Civitan Services in a professional manner at all times. Perform other duties as
assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate would have experience
working with individuals with developmental disabilities and experience working
in a school setting, health or human service agency. A familiarity with Saline County
roads would be helpful.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma, good verbal
and written communication skills, sensitivity to cultural/ethical differences and
basic computer skills are required. All employees must pass a drug test and the
required background checks and be able to safely perform the essential job functions
with or without reasonable accommodations.

Supportive Living Provider
Position involves supervising, training and providing assistance and support to
individuals with developmental disabilities in areas such as recreation/leisure
time in the community, communications, socialization and the development of relationships,
self-care, community survival and mobility, money management, transportation and
other activities that will increase the individuals participation in the community.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED, ability to relate to and work
with persons with developmental disabilities, ability to read and write legibly;
ability to maintain accurate records. Must have use of a car, be able to drive,
have a current driver’s license and liability insurance. Applicants must be able
to work in a team and on a one-on-one basis. This position reports to the Community
Services Director and hours are arranged in consultation with the Director.
